Unboxing the Klipsch R-100SW Subwoofer

The Klipsch R-100SW subwoofer arrived in a small, light box from the brand. The front of the box had the log and a picture of the woofer, and the back had instructions on how to set up the woofer and some information about the product.

Opening the box was a piece of cake, and it took us hardly a few minutes to remove the packaging material and reveal the woofer. Surprisingly, the woofer was well-packed in plastic and foam for safe and secure shipping.

Additionally, the power cord was also enclosed in the box with the user manual. However, the detachable grill was carefully wrapped in a cloth as it is a sensitive addition inside the box. As usual, we enjoyed unboxing the Klipsch subwoofer as the compact, sturdy profile woofer has all the eyes.

Size and Design

R-100SW is a 10″ subwoofer that is flawless and friendly for any home theater application. With a 300-watt peak power, it provides superior sound quality and deep bass from its front-firing driver, enhancing your listening experience.

The R-100SW is from the reference series projecting similar models with a size difference, so it has nothing unusual or special if you are familiar with the R-120SW and R-8SW. However, it looks off from the sightseeing but is not so general.

When it comes to looks, the subwoofer is pretty sleek, and it’s finished in black brushed vinyl, which gives it an elegant touch. The build quality is excellent, and it’s a step up from some of the other subwoofers in this price range.

The compact profile with measurements of 14.5 x 12.5 x 16.4 inches (HWD) is flexible enough to slide anywhere in the room. Also, a grill at the front hides the 10-inches IMG driver while throwing some decent vibes to the appearance.

Frequency Response Range

The R-100SW has a frequency response of 32Hz – 120Hz, meaning that you’ll be able to hear all the low-end rumble and boom you want. And with its 10-inch IMG woofer, it can fill up a small to medium-sized room with ease.

However, music with a frequency level below 32Hz could be hard to hear, making it a decent choice for gaming, movies, and shows but not for rocky and hip-hop music nights.

On the upside, it handles delivering great-sounding bass at high volume levels with excellent clarity and precision. The frequency does a great job aligning with upper and mid notes for the engaging sound output.

Bass and Sound Performance

How does it sound, you ask? In a word: incredible.

The Klipsch R-100SW 10″ Subwoofer will give you the low-end rumble you crave without saying it like a box of rattling bones.

This subwoofer is all about delivering tight and clean bass. Whether watching a movie with bone-crunching action scenes or listening to your favorite vinyl album, the R-100SW can add weight and depth to your audio experience.

By testing and subjecting it to a wide range of musical genres, we were able to confirm that many other subwoofers are simply not as strong. It’s common for movie soundtracks to lose their clarity and harmony when special effects are played at high volumes. Thankfully, that’s not the case with the R-100SW.

Connections

In terms of connections, there’s a single RCA input and output and a line-level input and output. There’s also an LFE input specifically for connecting to a home theater receiver. We didn’t face any hassle finding the right input connection and inserting the cables to secure the connection.

The audio signal aligns the volume between receivers, and the gain knob controls the speaker’s performance. The phase knob pauses the audio streams mechanically. Finally, the low-pass filter knob lets you filter the deep bass and cut-off frequencies that travel through your subwoofer. You can get the vibe you want by adjusting the knobs.

Easy and Quick Setup

Setting up this Klipsch subwoofer is easy as a walk in the park. First, you should find a place to put it safely. Avoid putting it in a corner because that can muffle the sound. Once you’ve found the perfect spot, you must connect the subwoofer to your receiver using an RCA cable.

Now, if you’re using a powered subwoofer, which means it has its amplifier, you’ll need to connect it to AC power. But don’t worry, that’s pretty much as fast as setup goes!

Additionally, the speaker is also very easy to set up. You can connect it to your TV, receiver, or soundbar with just a few simple steps. And it’s small enough to fit almost any space and perform despite being in the sweet spot.

Benefits
• 300 watts of peak power
• IMG driver
• Solid enclosure
• Loud and deep bass
• The frequency range of 32-120Hz
Drawbacks
• Low-key design

Bottom Line

So there you have it—everything you need to know about the Klipsch R-100SW 10″ subwoofer. This review should help you decide whether or not this subwoofer is the right choice for your home theater setup.

The Klipsch R-100SW is an excellent option if you’re looking for a powerful subwoofer to pack a punch. But it’s also essential to remember that this subwoofer is on the larger side, so make sure you have enough space to accommodate it.
