Unboxing the PSW10 – A Well-Packaged Subwoofer

To my surprise, looking at the pictures online, it was bigger and more solid than I assumed. It was packed with all the necessary equipment and cables to make it functional.

There was also a removable grille in the box, which you can use to give it a different look. We like it with the grille on as it complements our entertainment setup. Besides, there was a user manual and a power or RCA cable for easy setup.

Compact Design!

You will be amazed to see this compact subwoofer in a traditional wooden cabinet design, delivering big, heart-pounding bass.

The subwoofer has a relatively low profile, measuring 14 x 14-3/8 x 16-3/16 (WHD) and weighing only 26 lbs. So you shouldn’t be bothered about its placement and can keep it in your entertainment area for a smooth and stable connection.

Additionally, it has a unique profile, with an MDF-constructed shiny box that hosts a 10-inch front-firing woofer speaker covered by a detachable grill at the front. The front’s titanium finish grabs attention and makes it a catchy element in the living room.

Quick Connection to Any System

Polk’s PSW10 is a powered punch subwoofer that is always ready to deliver plenty of bass power with its front-firing speaker. As a result, it simplifies connecting to the receiver by providing both speaker-level and line-level connections.

The RCA cable lets you pair the subwoofer with any high or low-profile sound system for distortion-free, rich bass.

Other controls, including phase, power, volume, and low pass, are also available at the rear side of the sub. Besides the power toggle, the variable low pass crossover at 80 to 160 Hz gives you enough room to adjust the notes with customized tuning according to the speaker signals.

Besides, the auto-on feature immediately responds and makes it work as soon as it receives any sound signals, and the volume toggle helps control the sound level as it doesn’t come with a remote.

How Powerful Can it be?

If you are looking for a valuable sub that won’t break the bank, the Polk Audio PSW10 should be at the top of your list. Its 50W powerful amplifier and ample bass output make it an ideal choice for movie and music playback alike.

With a frequency response of 40-120Hz, the sub can go deep down and deliver hard-hitting low-frequency notes. The continuous power handling capacity of the device is 100W at peak and 50W RMS. It will fill up the room with booming bass and fewer distractions in no time.

Moreover, the laser-based Klipper distortion measurement technology also helps minimize distortion for a more accurate, deep, and realistic bass sound. It makes the soundbar perfect for daily TV watching, movies, podcasts, and other dialogue-sensitive content.

It can throw heavy bass notes with a low-pass crossover frequency response of 80-160Hz. Additionally, you will hardly notice any distortions at the maximum volume level, and the bass clarity is notable when listening to funky music.

• Compact profile
• Front-firing speaker
